Seiko in Search for Perfection

In 2005 Seiko introduced the collection of its Spring Drive timepieces. The development of the watches has been based upon 25 years of thorough research and development. Applying a completely innovative approach, the Japanese company has aimed at entering the international haut de gamme timekeeping segment. To reach the goal, Seiko wanted to launch annually new calibers of the Spring Drive collection, demonstrating its savoir-faire through developing exceptional pieces. The year 2006 saw the introduction of two new Spring Drive creations - the Spring Drive GMT and the Spring Drive Moon Phase. But it was the Seiko Spring Drive Grande Sonnerie that made a real stir in the world of horology. In 2007 Seiko has presented a timepiece that became a fine addition to the Spring Drive line - the Spring Drive Chronograph. At the moment the line consists of 11 watch models and four different calibers. In the new Seiko creation the mechanism of the chronograph is able to measures tenths of a second up to twelve hours. It operates due to the Spring Drive system. The same way as the hour hands in the Spring Drive, the chronograph hands do not 'jump' they seem to be continuously sliding. Very impressive from the visual point of view this system provides one more significant advantage
